From 1 March, Tickets for Auschwitz-Birkenau Will Be Available Exclusively Online
From 1 March, all entry tickets to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Site will be available online only. This means that tickets will no longer be sold or issued on site at the Museum entrance.
The change applies to all visitors and is intended to improve the organisation of visitor flow and make it easier to plan a visit in advance.
What changes from 1 March?
- entry tickets are available online only
- no ticket sales or ticket collection on site
- easier advance planning of visit times
- reduced queues and uncertainty regarding availability
The new rules aim to improve visitor comfort and better manage attendance at one of Europe’s most frequently visited memorial sites.
Continuation of earlier changes
The introduction of online-only reservations is another step in a series of organisational changes implemented since 2025.
Previously, free entry tickets stopped being issued on site, with advance reservation becoming mandatory. The rules governing free entry and the changes introduced at that time are explained in more detail in our earlier article:

The current update is therefore a natural continuation of efforts to improve visitor flow management and increase predictability when planning a visit.
Plan your visit in advance
Due to consistently high visitor numbers, early planning is recommended, as last-minute availability may be very limited or even unavailable. Online reservation allows visitors to better align their visit date with available entry times and avoid uncertainty close to the intended date.
In 2025, the Auschwitz Memorial Site was visited by approximately 1.95 million people, highlighting the scale of interest and the importance of efficient visit organisation.
