Dive into the rich history and culture of Wieliczka! On September 16th, the Wieliczka Saltworks Museum opens its doors to all curious souls, inviting you to a captivating event as part of the European Heritage Days. This year is particularly special as the Wieliczka Salt Mine celebrates its 45th anniversary of UNESCO World Heritage listing, and the Żupny Castle marks its 10th year on the list. Explore the castle and the museum’s underground chambers—admission is free for all, although limited!

Participation in some activities requires advance reservation through the online form available on the Wieliczka Saltworks Museum website, starting from September 12, 2023.

ŻUPNY CASTLE
- 9.00–18.00 – Tour of Żupny Castle
- 10.00–14.00 – Salt carving demonstration by miners-sculptors from the Wieliczka Salt Mine, taking place in the castle courtyard
- 14.00, 16.00 – Guided tour of the exhibition "Mining and Art: The Middelschulte Porcelain Collection" with curator Klementyna Ochniak-Dudek (reservation required)
- 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00 – "History Captured in Scent" – educational workshops
SALTWORKS MUSEUM ROUTE
- 10.00, 11.00, 12.00 – "Mining Traditions" – educational workshops for families with children (reservation required)
