Free Exhibitions and Museum Lessons at Wawel Royal Castle
For the thirteenth time, Wawel Royal Castle opens its doors for free as part of the "Free November in Royal Residences" initiative, organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Throughout the month, visitors can explore the castle’s royal chambers and various unique exhibitions at no cost. Wawel, along with the Royal Castle in Warsaw, participates in this national initiative, making it a popular cultural highlight each year.
What to See at Wawel in November
During "Free November," visitors can enjoy free access to the following exhibitions:
- Castle II – the entire second floor of the castle, including the State Rooms and the temporary exhibition "Long Live the King! The Coronations of the Saxon Kings at Wawel," as well as "Turkish Tents" and "Masterpieces from the Lanckoroński Collection. Second Edition."
- Castle Underground – exhibitions "Lost Wawel" and the "Wawel Underground. Lapidarium."
- Recovered Wawel – a dedicated exhibition space within the castle.
Additionally, Wawel has prepared 200 free museum lessons for children, teens, and adults, offering an exceptional opportunity to deepen knowledge of Polish cultural heritage.
How to Access Free November at Wawel
Free tickets are available at the ticket office on the day of the visit and can also be reserved a week in advance in the online store. Each visitor can obtain tickets for up to five people, but availability is limited. Visits are available from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with last entry one hour before closing.
