Tour de Pologne 2026 Finale at Wieliczka Salt Mine
July 23, 2026
The 83rd Tour de Pologne ends at Wieliczka Salt Mine on 9 August 2026 with a decisive 12.5 km individual time trial and possible traffic disruptions.
Tour de Pologne 2026 Grand Finale at Wieliczka Salt Mine
The 83rd Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour will reach its dramatic conclusion at one of Poland’s most famous landmarks. On Sunday, 9 August 2026, the final stage of the race will take place around the Wieliczka Salt Mine, where the overall winner of this year’s competition will be decided.
As in the previous edition, Stage 7 will be an individual time trial starting and finishing near the Daniłowicz Shaft. The 12.5-kilometre course may appear short, but every second could prove crucial for the final ORLEN General Classification.
A Decisive Individual Time Trial
The route begins with a climb of slightly more than 1.5 kilometres, immediately testing the strength and pacing of the riders. The remaining section leads across flatter and gently descending roads before returning to the Wieliczka Salt Mine.
Individual time trials leave little room for tactical waiting or support from teammates. Each cyclist competes alone against the clock, making precise pacing, aerodynamics and the ability to maintain maximum effort particularly important.
The Wieliczka course has already demonstrated its potential to reshape the overall standings. In 2025, Brandon McNulty won the final time trial and, thanks to his performance, also secured victory in the entire Tour de Pologne. The 2026 finale may once again produce significant changes at the top of the classification.
Wieliczka Becomes Poland’s Cycling Capital
The final stage was officially presented in the Jan Haluszka Chamber, located 135 metres underground. During the event, representatives of the Tour de Pologne, the Wieliczka Salt Mine and Wieliczka County signed cooperation agreements concerning the organisation of the race finale.
The relationship between the national cycling tour and the historic mine stretches back almost three decades. The two organisations first worked together in 1997, when Wieliczka hosted the finish of a stage beginning in Zakopane. Since then, the mine has provided a memorable setting for race starts, finishes and official Tour de Pologne events.
The 2026 race will travel from northern to southern Poland. After stages connecting Gdynia with Koszalin, Międzyzdroje with Szczecin, Gorzów Wielkopolski with Zielona Góra, Żagań with Karpacz, Opole with Kocierz Resort and Bukovina Resort with Bukowina Tatrzańska, the riders will arrive in Wieliczka for the decisive race against the clock.
