25th Great Dragon Parade in Krakow 2026. The dragon spectacle returns to the Vistula
On 6-7 June 2026, dragons will once again take over Krakow. The city is preparing for the jubilee 25th Great Dragon Parade - one of the most distinctive outdoor events held in Krakow.
For two days, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy attractions prepared along the Vistula River and in the city centre. The programme includes family activities, an evening riverside show and a colourful dragon parade leading to the Main Market Square.
This year’s edition will also bring an important organisational change. The evening show on the Vistula will be arranged in a new layout - the stage will be located on Bulwar Rodła, while the audience will watch the spectacle from Bulwar Tyniecki. Entrances are planned from Szwedzka, Skwerowa and Tyniecka streets.
What is planned for Saturday, 6 June?
The first day of the event will begin on Bulwar Czerwieński, where the Dragon Family Picnic will open at 10:00. This part of the programme is designed mainly for children and families, with games, competitions, workshops, animations and additional attractions prepared by the event partners.
The main highlight of Saturday will be the evening show on the Vistula River. The spectacle starts at 22:00 on Bulwar Tyniecki. The organisers announce a performance featuring large dragon constructions, music, lights, lasers and visual effects. Drones are also expected to play an important role this year.
For several years, the Great Dragon Parade has been moving away from traditional, loud fireworks displays. Instead, the event uses solutions that are less disruptive to the surroundings, including light effects, lasers, drones and low-noise “silence” pyrotechnics. This allows the event to remain spectacular while being more animal- and environmentally friendly.

Sunday Dragon Parade on the Main Market Square
On Sunday, 7 June, the Dragon Family Picnic will continue on Bulwar Czerwieński from 10:00 to 19:00. At noon, the main street parade will begin.
The procession will set off from the Planty Park area near the Royal Hotel and continue towards the Main Market Square. The parade will feature large-scale dragons created by children, young people, schools, kindergartens and cultural institutions. The constructions will be accompanied by artists, dancers and orchestras, turning the centre of Krakow into an open-air stage for several hours.
The dragons taking part in the procession will compete for the title of the Most Beautiful Dragon of the Parade.
