Return to Normality: Kraków Airport Welcomes 5 Million Passengers
On July 22, Kraków Airport celebrated the arrival of its five-millionth passenger. According to the airport's representatives, this achievement was reached faster than any other in recent years.
The summer season of 2023 at the Kraków airport demonstrates the dynamic restoration of the connection network. Passenger traffic is returning to pre-pandemic levels. "We have reached the milestone of 5 million served passengers for the fifth time in the airport's history. This time, this result was achieved fastest within a given year," comments Radosław Włoszek, CEO of Kraków Airport.
The airport authorities provided data from previous years (excluding 2021 and 2022) that reveal a trend. In 2017, the threshold of 5.3 million passengers was crossed in November, and a year later, in 2018, the airport welcomed 5.05 million passengers in September. In 2019, the figure of 5.4 million passengers was reached in August. Last year, the same figure was also recorded in September.
